What your child will learn: Short Stories: Plot, Character & Conflict

Character = want + obstacle + flaw. A knight who wants glory but faints at blood? Now THAT's a story.
The plot mountain: exposition → rising action → climax → falling action → resolution.
Conflict is the fuel: character vs. character, vs. nature, vs. society, or vs. themselves.
Write dialogue that does two jobs at once: reveals character AND moves the plot.
