What your child will learn: Adding & Subtracting to 100

Numbers like 47 have TENS (4 tens = 40) and ONES (7 ones).
To add 32 + 25: add the tens (30+20=50), add the ones (2+5=7), then join them: 57!
Subtracting means taking away. 48 − 6 means start at 48 and hop back 6.
Check subtraction by adding back: if 48 − 6 = 42, then 42 + 6 should be 48. It is!
