What your child will learn: The Human Body: Systems at Work
- Circulatory system: the heart pumps blood through vessels, delivering oxygen and nutrients to every cell. Your heart beats ~100,000 times a day!
- Respiratory system: lungs pull in oxygen and expel carbon dioxide. Blood picks up oxygen in tiny air sacs called alveoli.
- Digestive system: mouth → esophagus → stomach → small intestine (absorbs nutrients) → large intestine (absorbs water).
